Rent a Tank

The Potomac Valley Aquarium Society has a large number of 5 and 10 gallon tanks, and some larger ones also, that we keep in storage for use as "rental tanks" at our conventions. We make these available to people coming from out of town and can’t bring tanks with them and want to keep their fish comfortable during their stay in the hotel. They are also available for people who want to sell from their rooms during the weekend. They can be rented at $3 each and can be picked up from Thursday afternoon to Sunday, but need to be returned by Monday at 12:00 noon so they can be returned to our storage area. If you desire any tanks to be there when you arrive, please make your request known to the in-room sales chairman at roomsales@catfish2010.com.

If you reserve by phone, call the phone number above and use keyword: CATFISH with your reservation for the special rate.

The cut-off date for hotel reservation requests is October 7th. After the cut-off date, rooms will be based on availability.

Additional Room Nights: If you plan to arrive earlier than the start of the convention or plan to stay after, mention the key word: CATFISH when making your reservations and the special rate will remain $90 + taxes for any additional nights – for a maximum of two nights before and after. Rates apply from Monday, October 18th to Tuesday, October 26th.

Rooms: Guest rooms are mini-suite style with twin double beds, or king-sized beds. There are very few smoking rooms available, so reserve early if you require a smoking room. Deluxe Suites are available for $140 per night. Handicapped accessible rooms are available, just ask during the reservation process.

NOTE: All in-room fish sale rooms will be on the NINTH FLOOR of the hotel to facilitate an evening of fish room shopping on Friday night of the convention.

Airport Information:

The closest airport is Dulles International Airport (IAD). The hotel is approximately 11 miles from the airport. Other area airports are Reagan National Airport (DCA), which is 25 miles from the hotel, and Baltimore-Washington Airport (BWI), 58 miles from the hotel. Vehicle rentals are strongly recommended if you are traveling into Regan National or Baltimore–Washington airports.

Please note: There is no hotel shuttle service from Dulles airport to the hotel. Travelers are urged to arrange their own transportation from the airport to the hotel. Taxis are available at the airport.
