In-Room Fish Sales

Rent a Tank

The Potomac Valley Aquarium Society has a large number of 5 and 10 gallon tanks, and some larger ones also, that we keep in storage for use as "rental tanks" at our conventions. We make these available to people coming from out of town and can’t bring tanks with them and want to keep their fish comfortable during their stay in the hotel. They are also available for people who want to sell from their rooms during the weekend. They can be rented at $3 each and can be picked up from Thursday afternoon to Sunday, but need to be returned by Monday at 12:00 noon so they can be returned to our storage area. If you desire any tanks to be there when you arrive, please make your request known to the in-room sales chairman at roomsales@catfish2010.com.

Registered AACC10 convention attendees may sell fish from their hotel guest rooms. No fish or plants may be sold in public areas of the hotel or on hotel grounds (no exceptions are permitted by hotel security). In-room fish sellers must be a registered convention attendee to conduct in-room sales and the room must be booked under the Catfish Convention block (Keyword: CATFISH) to be considered as part of the In-Room block.

In-room fish sale rooms are to be located on the ninth floor of the hotel to facilitate the evening-long shopping party on Friday night of the convention. Please, if you intend to sell fish from your room, ask for a ninth floor room for the convention! Also send an email to roomsales@catfish2010.com so that we can ensure that the hotel places you on the ninth floor.

In the event that the ninth floor fills up, in-room fish vendors will be subject to random placement in the hotel by the reservations staff.

You must have your in-room bulletin board notice approved by the in-room sales coordinator, roomsales@catfish2010.com. Board notices will be posted in a visible place for all convention attendees to view during the event.

An in-room fish sales registration fee of $10 (check payable to PVAS, Inc.) is required to participate in this program. One 8.5 x 11 inch advertisement will be placed on the bulletin board for each in-room vendor.

Please Note: There are only 26 rooms on the ninth floor of the hotel, so book early! Rooms will be showcased on Friday night of the convention as well as throughout the event. Please be sure to use keyword: CATFISH, and say that you require a room on the ninth floor if you are an in-room vendor, when you make your reservation. (Reservations: 703-818-1234)

Also, registered guests are responsible for any damage that occurs in their hotel room.
